The Braemar Arts Festival schedule has been released, and I cannot encourage enough people to attend this festival. The village is located in the Cairngorms National Park and is a location usually reserved for skiing or hillwalking. However, for one week a year, they attract visitors from around the world hoping to participate and collaborate the arts.

The festival is heading into its third year, and the organisers (actually, the entire town) go out of their way to make sure everyone is engaged and having fun. From knitting circles to learning to play the fiddle to writing classes, this week of activities has something for everyone. Last year they won a Scotland Epic Award

Yes, I may seem a bit biased, as I will be teaching there again this year, but I suggest you do more than just come to my class. If you can, take a week holiday and sample as much of the festival has to offer. The event is run by great people and is in a stunning location. What more could you ask for.
